RULES/BASES

The International Competition will be held on Friday 10 May 2024 at 17:30 h at the Hotel Evenia Olympic Resort **** (Room to be determined), the hotel is located at Calle Senyora de Rossell, nº 35 (17310, Lloret de Mar (Girona) Spain).

The contest is open to the public, paying their entrance fee (10€). The doors will be open to the public TEN minutes before the competition begins.
 

The results of the contest will be announced once finished.

 

TERMS AND REGULATIONS

INTERNATIONAL MASTER

In this category are teachers and dancers from around the world who are professionally engaged in belly dancing and receive remuneration for their work. The participant must be 18 years old and prove her experience as a teacher.

Each contestant will present their own choreography with a maximum duration of 3 minutes. Elements can be used. Choreographies of classical oriental, tarab, modern oriental, shaaby, balady or folklore style are accepted in this category. Fusion is not allowed. Choreographies that are exclusively drum choreographies are not accepted, only fragments that do not exceed 50% of the total time allowed. There is no qualifying round.

NATIONAL MASTER

In this category are teachers and dancers from Spain who are professionally engaged in belly dancing and receive remuneration for their work. The participant must be 18 years old and prove her experience as a teacher.

Each contestant will present their own choreography with a maximum duration of 3 minutes. Elements can be used. Choreographies of classical oriental, tarab, modern oriental, shaaby, balady or folklore style are accepted in this category. Fusion is not allowed. Choreographies that are exclusively drum choreographies are not accepted, only fragments that do not exceed 50% of the total time allowed. There is no qualifying round.

PROFESSIONAL DANCER

In this category are teachers and/or dancers who are professionally engaged in belly dancing and receive remuneration for their work.

SOLO FUSION

Professional. All types of dances and styles are allowed in this category. In this category is allowed: Oriental Fusion, Fusion with elements of Fantasy, Dances of Polynesia, Tribal, Latin, Bollywood or Burlesque.

Each contestant will present their own choreography or that of a master (in which case they must specify who is the creator of the choreography) with a maximum duration of 3 minutes. Elements may be used (fire elements are not accepted). There is no qualifying round.

AMATEUR

Category aimed at amateurs and students from beginner to advanced level, who are not professionally engaged from 12 years of age. Each contestant may submit their own choreography or that of a teacher (in which case they must specify who is the creator of the choreography). The maximum duration of each performance will be 3 minutes. Elements can be used. Choreographies in classical oriental, tarab, modern oriental, shaaby, balady or folklore style are accepted in this category. Fusion is not allowed. Choreographies that are exclusively drum choreographies are not accepted, only fragments that do not exceed 50% of the total time allowed. There is no qualifying round.

RISING STAR (ADVANCED-INTERMEDIATE)

Category aimed at dancers and students from advanced level, who are not professionally engaged from 12 years of age. Each contestant may submit their own choreography or that of a teacher (in which case they must specify who is the creator of the choreography). The maximum duration of each performance will be 3 minutes. Elements can be used. Choreographies in classical oriental, tarab, modern oriental, shaaby, balady or folklore style are accepted in this category. Fusion is not allowed. Choreographies that are exclusively drum choreographies are not accepted, only fragments that do not exceed 50% of the total time allowed. There is no qualifying round.

GROUP

Open level. The group must be composed of at least TWO members. Each group will have its own choreography or that of a teacher (in which case you must specify who is the creator of the choreography). The maximum duration of each performance will be 3 minutes. Elements can be used. Choreographies of classical oriental, tarab, modern oriental, shaaby, balady or folklore style are accepted in this category. Fusion is not allowed. FUSION GROUP

Category for dancers after 50 years old.

FOLKLORE

Open Level.

Each contestant can present their own choreography or that of a teacher (in which case they must specify who is the creator of the choreography). The maximum duration of each performance will be 3 minutes. Choreographies are exclusively Folklore. There is no qualifying round.

 

DRUM SOLO

Open Level.

Each contestant can present their own choreography or that of a teacher (in which case they must specify who is the creator of the choreography). The maximum duration of each performance will be 3 minutes. Choreographies are exclusively Drum Solo. There is no qualifying round.

JURY

The members of the jury will be the masters of the festival.
The jury will evaluate the technical level of the choreography, technique and execution, staging, costumes, make-up and interpretation.
